I got to meet an old Yelp Elite that I haven't seen in a few years and meet 5 other fellow Yelpers. And the beignets were just heavenly! So soft and fluffy with an amazing sauce that made us want to lick the plate! The flavors of the dish were amazing! The other dishes tasted yummy as well. My absolute favorite was the octopus! It was tender and not chewy. My favorite cocktail was the drink with gin and it tasted like sparkling lemonade! Could barely taste the alcohol.įor the food, we had eggplant shakshuka with toasted brioche, octopus, pork chops and beignets. Every cocktail was beautiful, flavorful and strong. We were spoiled with a cocktail pairing with our 4 course meal. We were greeted with the dinner menu, a cocktail and Yelp swag! We had the upstairs dining room all to ourselves with our own crew of waiters and waitresses. This was my first Gold YEE!! I loved the location, the set up, the service and the food/drinks! Overall, a fun night for mingling with fellow Yelpers, over good food, fun music, drinks, and learned/admired some Asian artwork/culture. *Tapsnap - Fun photo booth! I took a pic of myself with the "Yelp Elite '12" sign and was able to email a copy to myself. *Flour+Tea - Love this place! They let us sample their green milk tea - really fragrant and delicious! And we got a choice between the flourless chocolate cake with strawberry cream filling or one of their red bean or taro clouds (bun-like). I became a fan after sampling a couple of their yogurts! They said they used Stevia as the sweetener. It definitely wasn't that sweet or as thick/heavy as Greek yogurt. *Tarte Asian Yogurt - Loved this! They had about 6 different flavors of yogurt - ranging from original, blueberry acai, pomegranate, green tea, and couple others. I liked how it was light and had a subtle taste. *Firestone - They let us sample 3 types of ales/beers. They set up a "beer-pong" table where you had 3 attempts to score coupons for a free entree with a drink purchase and I was able to score 2 out of 3! Go me! *Qdoba - I've always wanted to try the Alhambra location so I was glad they were there tonight. There was a koi pond with koi fish and lily pads. I love Asian culture and art! The scavenger hunt was a great idea!Īnd I loved how all the vendors were set up outside in the courtyard. I had a great time walking around through all the exhibits at the museum. and thank you Katie B / Yelp/ and Pacific Asia Museum for making this event happen! This place has been on my bookmarks list for a while.
